5.3 Advanced Scanning

Removing a Color from the Scanned Image (Dropout Color)

You can select either green, red, blue (primary colors), or a color of your choice to remove the details of the selected color from a scanned image.

For example, if a document with black characters and a green background is scanned, only the black characters will appear on the scanned image if [Green] is selected.

Example: When [Green] is selected for dropout color

Dropout works the best with light (low density) colors, and dark

colors may not drop out.

Dropout color is only available in black & white or grayscale mode.

1 Load documents in the ADF paper chute.

For details, refer to "Chapter 2 How to Load Documents" (page 26).

2 Start up ScandAll PRO and click the [Scan] menu J [Scanner Setting].

DThe [TWAIN Driver (32)] dialog box appears.

If the [TWAIN Driver (32)] dialog box does not appear, check the setting in ScandAll PRO by clicking the [Tool] menu J [Preferences] to open the [Setup] dialog box, then confirm that [TWAIN] is selected for [Device Driver] in the [Scan] tab.

3 Click the [Advance] button.

DThe [Advance] dialog box appears.
