c.Gently push the drive assembly into the bay until the drive stops.

d.Push the tray handle 2 to the closed (locked) position.

e.Check the hard disk drive status LED to make sure that the hard disk drive is operating correctly. If the amber hard disk drive status LED for a drive is lit continuously, that drive is faulty and must be replaced. If the green hard disk drive activity LED is flashing, the drive is being accessed.

Note: If the server is configured for RAID operation using a RAID controller, you might have to reconfigure your disk arrays after you install hard disk drives. See the RAID controller documentation for additional information about RAID operation and complete instructions for using the RAID controller.

To replace a PCI card, use the following procedures:

Removing a PCI card

To remove a PCI card, complete the following steps:

1.Read the safety information in “Important Safety Information” on page 1 and “Guidelines for trained service technicians” on page 115.

2.Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords.

3.Remove the server from the rack and remove the cover (see “Removing and installing the cover” on page 119).

4.Disconnect any cables from the PCI card.

5.Remove the riser-card assembly (see “Removing the riser-card assembly” on page 157).

6.If the riser-card assembly is an optional PCI-X riser-card assembly, disconnect the riser-card power cable from the riser-card assembly.
