Listening to the Radio

The tuner can receive both FM and AM broadcasts, and lets you memorize your favorite stations so you don't have to manually tune in every time you want to listen. Here we run through the basic tuner controls, including switching between AM and FM, and tuning to a station. Full instructions for all the tuner's other features can be found on pages 39 to 47.

1Press TUNER to switch to tuner mode.

Press repeatedly to switch between:

FM - AM - STATION

For now, choose either FM or AM—the STATION option is covered on page 39.

2Tune to a station.

There are three tuning modes—step, auto, and high-speed:

Step tuning: Press the $or Ýbutton repeatedly to step through the frequency band in either direction

Auto tuning: Press and hold the $or Ýbutton until the frequency display starts to move, then release. The tuner will stop on the next station it finds. Repeat to search for other stations.

High-speed tuning: Press and hold the $or Ý button until the frequency display starts to move rapidly. Keep the button held down until you reach the frequency you want. If necessary, fine tune the frequency using the step tuning method.

When you're tuned into a station, the tuned indicator lights in the display.

If the station is FM stereo, the stereo indicator lights.

2Accordez un station.

Il y a trois modes d’accord - manuel, auto et rapide:

Accord manuel: Appuyez de façon répétée sur la touche $ou Ýpour accorder successivement toutes les stations de la gamme dans un sens.

Accord automatique: Appuyez en continu sur la touche $ou Ýjusqu’à ce que la fréquence change automatiquement et relâchez la touche. L’accord se fait sur la prochaine station localisée. Recommencez pour rechercher une autre station.

Accord rapide: Appuyez en continu sur la touche $ ou Ýjusqu’à ce que l’indication de la fréquence se mette

àchanger rapidement. Maintenez la pression sur la touche jusqu’à ce que vous atteignez la fréquence souhaitée. Au besoin, accordez ensuite la station plus finement en utilisant l’accord manuel.

Lorsqu’une station est accordée, l’indicateur de station accordée s’allume dans l’afficheur.

S’il s’agit d’une station stéréo FM, l’indicateur stéréo s’allumera aussi.
