60 Chapter 3 Global Directory
In order for an iPower to auto register with the Global Directory, the iPower must be congured to
look up the server. This allows the iPower to access and register with the Global Directory.
From the iPower web page go to:
Highlight the system of interest in the System list and click on Manage System. Go to:

System Info > Admin Tools > Directories >

Directory options > Central and Personal Directories >

Set up Central Directory

Field Description
Server DNS Name The server on which the Central Directory
resides.
Server IP address: An alternate way for the system to nd the
Central Directory.
Port number: 3601
The port number that the system assigns
automatically when you select the Polycom
Global Directory as the Server Type. You
cannot modify this number.
Server Access Account
name:
The system account name on the Directory
server. You can get this information from
the Directory Server administrator. This
information is not required for systems
congured to use the Polycom Global
Directory.
Account password: Lets you enter and conrm the Directory
Server password. You can get this
information from the Directory Server
administrator.
Automatically register this
system’s information with the
server:
Allows the system to automatically create
or update its own entry in the Directory
Server at startup. This setting is always
enabled for systems congured to use the
Polycom Global Directory.
