Initial IP Address Setup

Before you can use the TCP/IP management services of a CPU, it must contain a valid network IP Address. There are three ways to assign an IP Address to the CPU:

CPU

Connection between the CPU and a PC on the same local LAN segment

A VT-100 terminal connection to the CPU Local Port

10BaseT Network

10BaseT Ethernet

Interface Card

or Crossover Cable

Power

Adapter

This section describes in detail each method for assigning the CPU an IP Address.
