The external telephone is required.

You can send a fax message using an external telephone.

Note

❒The result of transmission with manual dial is not mentioned in

3the Transmission Result Report (Immediate Transmission).

A Place your original, and then se- lect any scan settings you require.

B Pick up the external telephone.

CDial.

If you make a mistake, replace the external telephone and try again from step B.

D When the line is connected and you hear a high-pitched tone, press the {Start} key to send your fax message.

❒If the other party answers the phone, inform them that you are sending a fax.

E Replace the handset of the exter- nal telephone.

After transmission the machine will return to standby mode.
