Creating and Using Personal Books

Poll one or more fax machines using Rapid Keys and Speed Dial numbers from your book (see page 150).

Set up a timer operation using a Rapid Key or Speed Dial number from your book (see page 158).

Print out the Destination List, Program/Group List, or Timer List (see page 200). When printed from your book, these lists will show the corresponding information in your book.

Press REDIAL to redial the last number dialed from your book.

If the network scanner option is installed, you can program any Rapid Key or a Speed Dial number from 1 to 16 for Scan to E-mail as explained on page 89, and use the Rapid Key or Speed Dial number to send a document to an e-mail recipient as explained on pages 89 and 91.

Closing a book

A book will automatically close when the operation performed from the book is completed. If you need to close a book before performing an operation, press

STOP

. The display will show:

CANCEL BOOK?

1=YES 2=NO

START/

Make sure that YES is selected and then press ENTER .

If an operation is not performed within minute after opening a book, the book will automatically close.

Canceling an operation performed from a book

To cancel an operation that was set up from a book, you must first open the book (as explained on page 57) and then cancel the operation.

For example, if you need to cancel a fax transmission that was performed from a book, open your book and then cancel the operation as explained on page 51 or 52. Note that the job status of the fax can be checked without opening your book.

To clear a Rapid Key or Speed Dial number in a book, open the book and then clear the key or number.
