Removinga file extension from a backup category
Eachbackup file category contains a list of file
extensions.However, you can remove a default file
extensionor a file extension that you added to a backup
filecategory. Norton 360 identifies the files with the
fileextension that you removed and does not back them
upthe next time that you run backup. For example,
youdo not want to back up the documents with a .rtf
fileextension in the Office Documents category. In
thiscase, you can remove the .rtf file extension from
thatcategory.
Toremove a file extension from a backup category
1Inthe Norton 360 main window, click Backup, and
thenclick Manage Backup Sets.
2Onthe What tab, next to FileTypes, check Edit File
Type.
3UnderFile Types, next to a file category, click
Configure.
4Inthe window that appears, select the file extension,
andthen click Remove.
5ClickSave.
Resettinga backup category to default fileextensions
Youcan reset a file category to its default list of file
extension.When you reset a file category, Norton 360
restoresthe default file extension that you removed
previouslyand remove the file extensions that you
added.
