Ifyou know that a specific device on your network is
safe,you can apply Full Trust level to this device. In
addition,you can exclude this specific device from
IntrusionPrevention scan. When you exclude a device
fromIntrusion Prevention scan, Norton 360 trusts this
deviceand does not scan any information that is
receivedfrom this device. This improves the network
speedof your computer and helps the trusted device
toaccess your device quickly.
wYoucan exclude only full trusted devices that are on
thelocal subnet.
Toexclude a device from Intrusion Prevention scan,
youmust ensure that the IP address of the device never
changes.Norton 360 uses IP addresses to identify
deviceson your home network. If the IP address of the
devicechanges, Norton 360 cannot identify the trusted
devicethat should be excluded from Intrusion
Preventionscan.
wYoucan exclude a trusted device from Intrusion
Preventionscan only if you are sure that the device
doesnot have any security threats.
Whenyou apply Full Trust to a device and exclude it
fromIntrusion Prevention scan, the IP address and
MACaddress of the device are added to the Trust
Control.
Toexclude a device from Intrusion Prevention scan
1Inthe Norton 360 main window, click Settings.
2Inthe Settings window, under Detailed Settings,
clickMy Network.
3UnderMy Network, in the Network Security Map
row,click Configure.
4Ifthe NetworkSecurity Overview window appears,
clickOK.
