About the Network Security Map

4In the NetworkSecurityMap window, click a device icon.

You can use the scroll arrows to view the devices that are listed in the network map.

The device details section that is located below the network map displays the following details:

Device Name

Shows the name of the device

 

For a computer, the Network

 

Security Map displays the

 

NetBIOS name by default.

 

However, the Network Security

 

Map displays the name of the

 

device as NEW if it meets the

 

following conditions:

1The device does not have a NetBIOS name

1The device has a firewall that is enabled

You can change the device name in the Edit Device Details window.

Adapter Manufacturer Shows the name of the network adapter manufacturer of the device

The adapter manufacturer's name is based on the physical address (also known as Media Control Access address or MAC address) of the device.
