securityrisk item that you quarantine to function. In
thiscase, you can restore the security risk to regain
thefunctionality of a program that requires the risk
programto run.
wTheRestore option is only available for the security
risksthat are manually quarantined.
Toremove an item from the Quarantine
1Inthe SecurityHistory window,in the Quarantine
view,select the item that you want to remove.
2ClickRestore & Options.
3Inthe Threat Detected window, click Restore.
Thisoption is available for the security risks that
aremanually quarantined.
4Inthe Quarantine Restore window, click Yes.
5ClickClose.

Manuallysubmitting an item to Symantec

Whena virus or other risk is detected, it is
automaticallysubmitted to Symantec Security
ResponseWeb site for analysis. If you have turned off
theoption to submit risks automatically, you can
manuallysubmit them from the Security History
Quarantine.You must have an Internet connection to
submitan item.
Whenyou submit files to Symantec automatically or
manually,you contribute to the effectiveness of your
Symantecproduct. For example, you can submit an
itemthat has not been detected during scanning that
youbelieve may be a security risk. Symantec Security
Responseanalyzes the file. If it is identified as a
securityrisk, it is added to a future definition update.
Personallyidentifiable information is never included
insubmissions.
Insome cases it is necessary for Symantec Security
Responseto block submissions of a particular type or
