Glossary of Common FusionPunch II Terms
The following is a glossary/definition of terms that are common to the GBC
FusionPunch II and all related inline finishing devices.
Backgauge - an adjustable assembly that serves as a stop for the paper
when it arrives under the Punch Die. The adjustment of the Backgauge
determines the distance from the long edge of the paper to the punched
holes. This adjustment applies only when a GBC Cerlox 19-hole Punch Die
set is in use. For all other die sets, the Backgauge is set to its extreme
minimum position.
Backgauge Adjustment Knob - a knob that is used to adjust the
Backgauge assembly described above.
Centering the Punch - an adjustment procedure that is used to ensure that
the punched holes are centered (side to side) on the paper.
Control Panel - the central control area for the FusionPunch II and any
stackers that may be inline with the Punch. It consists of all control buttons
and a LCD display screen.
Diagnostics - a set of test routines used by the service representative to
troubleshoot the FusionPunch II.
Die, or Die Set - the tool steel assembly that punches the holes in the paper.
Die Lock Knob - the knob that is used to lock down or release the Die Set.
You would use this release to change die sets.
