Note

After60 seconds of no operation panel input, the fax returns to standby mode and any unregistered

changesare lost.

Entering a number

Wheneveryou are prompted to enter a fax number or a telephone number, follow these procedures.

Usethe numeric buttons to enter the number.

¶Youcan enter up to 20 digits for your fax number or 50 digits for a speed dialling number.

¶Besure to enter the appropriate area code if dialling outside the area served by your local exchange.

¶Youcannot enter dashes, slashes, commas, or other punctuation.

Usethe One-touch Speed Dialling buttons as follows:

¶Toenter a space between numbers, press [Space].

¶Ifyou make a mistake, press [Clear] and enter the number again.

¶Toerase a previously registered number, press [Clear]. You can also enter a new

numberover the old one.

Ifyou need to enter a pause for any reason,

¶Press[Redial/Pause] at the desired point in the sequence when entering a series of

digits.

¶Apause within a number is 2 seconds long*. The length of this pause can be

adjusted.See MID PAUSE SET in TX SETTINGS, p. 87. A pause at the end of

anumber is ﬁxed at 10 seconds.

* 4seconds long in the UK and Hong Kong.
