Transferring Images Using Other Devices

You can put your camera’s memory card into a (separately purchased) memory card reader, which acts like a removable disk or CD-ROM drive. Some computers and HP Photosmart printers have built-in memory card slots which act as a memory card reader.

To a Windows Computer

NOTE: For information about using Explorer to locate, copy, and paste files and create and rename folders (directories), consult Windows Help on your computer.

1.Identify a folder on your computer where you will store your images.

2.Insert your camera’s memory card into the memory card reader (or into your computer’s memory card slot).

3.Right-click My Computer on your desktop, then select Explore. The memory card appears as a removable drive.

4.Expand the removable drive folder, expand the DCIM folder, then click on the folder for your camera. If you cannot locate the images, check all the folders in the DCIM folder.

5.Select and copy all the images.6.Paste the copied images into the folder identified in Step 1.

7.After verifying that the images were successfully transferred, return the memory card to your camera. To free up space on the card, you can either delete the images or format the card (see pages 90 and 127).

NOTE: We recommend that you format the card rather than delete the images to help prevent corrupted images or cards.
