Setting Description

Document Use this mode for shooting flat, textual, or

graphical pieces. This mode uses a high contrast setting and a low saturation setting, with flash set to Off and the orientation sensor turned off.

Aperture Use this mode when you want specific control over

Priority the aperture (for example, using a lower F-number to blur the background or a higher F-number for more depth of field). This mode lets you select the F- number (aperture) setting using the buttons, while the camera selects the best shutter speed. If the image will be over- or under-exposed more than

0.5stops, the F-number, shutter speed, and exposure meter arrow turn red. Adjust the F-number until these items turn white.

Shutter Use this mode when you want specific control over

Priority the shutter speed (for example, using a faster shutter speed to freeze a fast-moving subject or a slower shutter speed to capture the appearance of motion). This mode lets you select the shutter speed

using the buttons, while the camera selects the best F-number. If the image will be over- or underexposed more than 0.5 stops, the F-number, shutter speed, and exposure meter arrow turn red. Adjust shutter speed until these items turn white.

Manual Use this mode when you want control over both F-number and shutter speed (see page 55). EV Compensation (see page 63) is disabled in this mode.

My Mode Use this customizable shooting mode when you want to select, save, and then repeatedly use a group of preferred settings (see page 56).
