Set Port command

Sets port state and speed for the specified port temporarily until the next switch reset or new configuration activation. This command also clears port counters. For information about port numbering and mapping, see Table 37 on page 124.

NOTE

For external ports (0,15), all port parameters apply. For internal ports, only the port state setting is configurable.

bypass [alpa] (for external ports only)

enable [alpa] (for external ports only)

speed [transmission_speed]

state [state]

Keywords

[port_number]

Specifies the port. Ports are numbered beginning with 0. For information about port numbering and mapping, see Table 37 on page 124.

bypass [alpa]

Sends a Loop Port Bypass (LPB) to a specific Arbitrated Loop Physical Address (ALPA) or to all ALPAs on the arbitrated loop. [alpa] can be a specific ALPA or the keyword ALL to choose all ALPAs.

clear

Clears the counters on the specified port.

enable [alpa]

Sends a Loop Port Enable (LPE) to all ALPAs on the arbitrated loop. [alpa] can be a specific ALPA or the keyword ALL to choose all ALPAs.

speed [transmission_speed]

Specifies the transmission speed for the specified port. Use one of the following port speed values:

1Gbps

One gigabit per second.

2Gbps

Two gigabits per second.

Auto

The port speed is automatically detected.

state [state]

Specifies the administrative state for the specified port. Use one of the following port state values:

Online

Places the port online.

Offline

Places the port offline.

Diagnostics

Prepares the port for testing.

Down

Disables the port.
