Check-In/Check-Out

The GuestWorks server can check guests into a hotel and, when the guest leaves, check them out. There are two ways this is done: through the PMS ter- minal or through the attendant console (or backup voice terminal).

NOTE:

Check-in and check-out from the attendant console can only be used if there is no PMS or if the link to the PMS is down. If the PMS is installed and working, check guests using the PMS.

For guest check-in or check-out from the console, there are two buttons on the attendant console (or backup voice terminal): one labeled Check In and the other labeled Check Out . The check-in procedure performs two functions: it deactivates the restriction on the telephone in the room allowing outward calls, and it changes the status of the room to occupied.
