Searching for a contact
The following table describes the criteria you can use to search for a contact.
Field | Search criteria |

Nickname | An alternate name assigned to a subscriber. For |
| example, you can assign the nickname manager to |
| the person you work for. |

Name | • First name and last name of the contact. For |
| example, searching for the contact with the Name |
| of Smith returns contacts with the first name |
| Smith and contacts with the last name Smith. |
| • Both first and last name of the contact. For |
| example, the string John Smith returns contacts |
| with the first name John and the last name |
| Smith.The search string Smith, John, also returns |
| the same contacts. |
| • Name matching continuation. For example, |
| entering a y returns all contacts starting with the |
| letter Y. |

Last name | Last name of the contact. |
|
|
First name | First name of the contact. |
|
|
Phone number | Telephone number of the contact. |
|
|
SIP address | The SIP address of the contact on the IP network. It |
| has the same format as an |
| example, jdoe@lab1.org, but it is not an |
| address. |
|
|
Friends | Nickname, first name, or last name of the contact. |
|
|
Group | Name of the group that the contact is a member of. |
| For example, searching for Work returns all contacts |
| that are members of that group. |

To search for a contact, perform the following steps.
1From the SEARCH list, select Personal address book.
2From the FOR list, select a criteria to search for. For example, First name
