14 Getting Started

If you select Custom Melody, you can choose from five melodies that
you can customize and name. As you scroll through the list, the
melodies are played. You also have the option of composing or editing a
melody and editing the title of the melody. See Custom Melodies on
page 49.
If you select Voice Ring, a message that you have recorded will be
played when you receive a call. See Message Alert on page 47.

Note: When select i ng a new ring al er t, you will not be able to
hear the sample ring or melody if ring volume has been muted or
if you are in a convers at ion. S ee Sel ec t ing a R i ng Aler t on
page 46 for more information.

V ibration Alert

In addition to alerting you with a ring or a voice rin g, your phone can alert
you t o in comi ng c all s by vibr ati ng. This fea tur e is usef ul for w hen y ou a re in
a meeting , at the m ovies, or at a concert, whe n an audible ring might be
disturbing to other s.
Note: To ensure that you do not disturb anyone, you should also
mute the r ing volume of your phone w hen you turn Vibrat ion on
(see Setting Ring Volume on page 13).

Restoring Default Values

If, after ch an gi ng severa l of yo ur phones settings, you decide that you do
not wan t to retain th e setti ngs, you can re store t he original values (that i s,
all the sett in gs that were in effect w hen you pur chased yo ur phone). You r
Phonebook entries will not be changed and an y voice commands you have
recorde d w i ll b e reta ined. S e e Reset Defaults on page 58 for information
