Everyday Operations

Your phone comes w ith a variety of features. In mo st cases, however, you
will use only some of these features on a daily basis. This chapter will
familiari ze you with most of th ose everyday operatio ns. Descriptio ns o f
more ad vanced features are cove re d i n additional chapters.

Placing Calls

To place a call , po wer on your phone and conf irm that you have a strong
signal in dicat i on. If you are in a digi t al ser vice area, the icon appe ar s.
Dialing from the Keypad
1From standby, enter the p hon e number (u p to 32 digi t s) .
2Press to place th e call.
Caution: During a call, if you press and hold , the
Speakerp hone feature i s ac tivated. Do no t h ol d th e ph one next
to your ear when the Speak er phone is activat ed .
Note: You cannot swit ch t o t he Speakerph one if any digits or
letters are on the display. Clear the display before trying to
activate the Speakerphone.
If the outgoing phone number matches an entry in the Phonebook, the
corresponding name is also displayed with the number.
3When th e cal l connects, Voice Call is displayed.
4Press to end the call.
Dialing from the Phonebook
To use Super Dial and Speed Di al, yo u m ust first progra m ent ries into the
Phonebook . See Chapter 5, Phonebook Fe atur es.

Depending on your phones search method
setting, the display shows entries alphabetically by
first or last name, or by memory location number.

To jump to a specific section of the alphabet,
press the number key that has the corresponding
letter on it.
