System Settings

This chap ter c ont ai n s in fo rmation about sett in gs in the System Setti ng s
menu. You shoul d not have to ch an ge t hese setting s. The procedur es i n
this chapt er ar e pr ovi ded for techn ic al ly knowledgeable users .
Caution: Before making any chang es t o t hese settings , cont act
your wireless service provider. Random changes to these
settings could negatively affect your phones perfor m ance.

Voice Privacy Mode

When this feature is on, conversations and messages are encrypted with a
special code that can be interpreted only by your wireless service provider .
Voice privacy is available only if offered by your wireless service provider .
Contact your wireless service provider for additional information.
1From standby, press (MENU) to enter the Main Menu.
2Press to scroll to Syst em Setting and press (OK).
3Press (OK) again to se le ct Network.
4Press (OK) again to se le ct Voice Privacy.
5To change the setting, scroll to the other option and press (OK).
If you selected On, the encryption icon ( ) is displayed during calls (if
you have subscribed to voice privacy with your service provider).

Selecting Your Phone Number (NAM)

Your phone can have up to two phone number s ( pr ogramme d by your
wireless service pro vi der ) . You can select either phone number to make a
call. Thes e phone numbers are refe rred to as NAM1 and NAM2 . NAM
stands for N um ber Assignm ent M odule.
Your wireless service prov id er m ust pr ogr am a NAM into y our handset in
order for it to op er at e correctly on th ei r ne twork. This can be done by a
sales re pr esentative , or opt i onally, it can be programmed into you r ph one
over t he airwaves.

3Press to scroll to NAM Selection and press (OK).
The display shows your current phone number setting.
4If you have a second ph on e number (NAM 2), view it by pr ess i ng
or .
5To select the other phone number (other than the one you are currently
using), m ak e sure that phone number (NAM) is disp la yed and press
(OK).
If you changed the NAM setting, a network search occurs.
Note: If you would like to have a second phone number
programm ed for your phone, cont act your wireles s service
provider.
