56 Additional Operations

Note: If the phone is turned off at the time set for the alarm, the
phone tur ns on and the alarm is act i vat e d. T he ph one remains
on until yo u tu rn it off.
The alarm alert lasts for 40 seconds. To stop the alarm, press
any key. To clear the message from the display, press (OK).

Creating a Welcome Screen

You ca n cr eate a personal i ze d m e s sage (up to 64 characters, inc lu di ng
spaces) to be displa ye d briefly whene ver you turn your phone on.
1From standby, pres s (MENU) to ent er the M ai n M enu.
2Scroll to Phone Settings and press (OK).
3Scroll to Welcome S cr een and press (OK).
4Scroll to On and press (OK ).
5To delete the c urr ent message, if any, pre ss and hold .
6Enter a new Welc om e Sc re en m essage. See C hapter 4, Text Entry
Operations for details about entering text.
7When th e m essage is complete, press (OK).

Selecting Another Language

You have the option of setting your phone so that the displayed language is
English, S pan i sh, Fr enc h, or Portuguese.
1From standby, pres s (MENU) to ent er the M ai n M enu.
2Scroll to Phone Settings and press (OK).
3Scroll to Language and press (OK).
4To select anot her language, scroll to the langu age of your ch oice and
press (OK).
The display confirms the new language setting
then returns to standby in the language you
selected.
All menu options and displayed words appear in
the selected language.
The phones internal dictionary (used in WORD T9
Modesee Chapter 4 for information on WORD
T9) also changes to the selected language.
