10.1Operating additional units
10.1.1Additional cordless handsets
Up to 6 cordless handsets can be registered to a single base unit. Additional cordless handsets, for example, will allow you to have an intercom call with another cordless handset while a third cordless handset is on an outside call. See page 11 for accessory information.
10.1.2 Additional base units
Cordless handsets can be registered to up to 4 base units, allowing you to add additional base units and extend the area in which your cordless handset(s) can be used. If a cordless handset moves out of range of its base unit when “Auto” is selected on base unit selection (page 81), it will look for another base unit to make or receive calls. Each base unit forms 1 radio cell.
Note:
LCalls will be disconnected when the cordless handset moves from one radio cell to
another.
LIntercom calls and call transfers are only possible between cordless handsets in the same radio cell.
10.2Registering a cordless handset to a base unit
The cordless handset supplied with the base unit is already registered. If an optional cordless handset is purchased, it must be registered using the following method.
LKeep the front cover page open for button locations.
1Press $(centre of joystick).
2Select t, then press ,.
3Select “Registration”, then press ,.
4Select “Register H/set”, then press
,.
5Press and hold {LOCATOR/INTERCOM} on the base unit for about 3 seconds, until the registration tone sounds.
L After pressing {LOCATOR/INTERCOM}, the rest of
this procedure must be completed within 1 minute.
6Select a base number, then press ,.
7Wait until “Enter Base PIN” is displayed, then enter “0000” (default base unit PIN). L If you changed the PIN, enter it (page 80).
8Press ,.
Note:
L When the cordless handset has been registered successfully, a confirmation tone will be heard and w will stop flashing.
10.2.1 Selecting a base unit
When “Auto” is selected, the cordless handset will automatically use any available base unit it is registered to. When a specific base unit is selected, the cordless handset will make and receive calls using that base unit only. If the cordless handset is out of range of that base unit, no calls can be made or received.

2Select t, then press ,.
3Select “Select Base”, then press ,.
4Select the desired base unit number, or “Auto”, then press ,.
L The cordless handset starts searching for the base unit.
10.2.2Cancelling a cordless handset
A cordless handset can cancel its own registration (or the registration of another cordless handset) that is stored in the base unit. This will allow the base unit to forget the cordless handset.
1Press $(centre of joystick).
2Select u, then press ,.
3Enter “0000” (default base unit PIN).
LIf you changed the PIN, enter it (page 80).
4Select “Cancel Handset”, then press
,.
L The names of all cordless handsets registered to the base unit are displayed.
5Select the cordless handset(s) you want to cancel, then press ?.
6Press ,.
