Connecting the Power and Switching On

RWARNING:

Connect the power cord directly into a wall outlet and never use an ex- tension cord.

Disconnect the power plug (by pulling the plug, not the cable) if the power cable or plug becomes frayed or otherwise damaged.

Turn off the power and disconnect the power plug (by pulling the plug, not the cable) if any of the following occurs:

You spill something into the machine.

You suspect that your machine needs service or repair.

The external housing of your machine has been damaged.

RCAUTION:

When you disconnect the power plug from the wall outlet, always pull the plug (not the cable).

Voltage must not fluctuate more than 10%.

The supply from the outlet must not fluctuate more than 12V above or be- low 120V.

The power cord should not be laid where it might trip somebody.

Do not place anything on the power cord.

If you must use an extension cord, make sure that it is capable of carrying 120V / 8A, and that your facsimile terminal is the only piece of equipment connected to that cord.
