The (ON LINE )buttonsets the printer on-lineand off-line.The state
changeseachtime youpress thebutton.
Intheon-linestatetheprinterreceivesdatafromthe computerandprintsthe
data.In theoff-line statetheprinter stopsprintingand sendsthe computer
asignalindicatingthatit cannotacceptdata.
Theprinterpowersup in theon-linestate ifpaper ispresent.If paperis not
present,theprinterpowers up off-linewiththe POWER indicatorflashing.
Whenyou loadpaper the POWER indicatorstopsflashing,but the printer
remainsoff-line.Tostart printingyoumust pressthe (ON LINE )button
goon-line.

Beforeand afterany otherpaneloperation
Theotherpanel buttonsoperateonlyin the off-linestate.First pressthe
(ON LINE )buttonto go off-line,then performthepanel operation,then
pressthe(ON LINE )button againto go backon-line.
Topause duringprinting
Ifyou pressthe (ONLINE )buttonduringprinting,theprinterstops
printingandgoes off-line,allowingyou to checkthe printoutor changea
controlpanel setting.Printingresumes whenyou press the CONLINE )
buttonagainto go back on-line.
Tocut fanfoldforms atthe end ofprinting
Whenusingfanfoldforms,if you holdtheCONLINE )buttondown for
onesecond,in additionto go off-linetheprinterfeeds thepaper abouttwo
inchesforward,allowingyouto cut it offjust below thelast lineprinted.
Whenyoupressthe(ONLINE )buttonagainto goback on-line,thepaper
feeds backwardabout one inch, stopping in the right place to resume
printing.
