3.1 General
This chapter explains the diagnostic programs for testing and diagnosing the functions of the
hardware components of this computer. The diagnostic programs can be categorized into two
types: OPTION and DIAGNOSTIC TEST.
NOTE: Before running a test, be sure to:
1. Check that all the cables are connected securely.
2. Exit the application that is currently running and close Windows.
The OPTION consists of the following functions..
Select All Items

Log Parameters
Specify Log Viewer
Display Error Log File

Exit to DOS
The DIAGNOSTIC TEST Devices provides the following tests.
System Test
Memory Test
Storage Test
Video Test
Communication Test
Peripheral Test
Audio Test
DMI Read/Write
System Information
Get the following tools prepared before running the diagnostic programs:
A Service Diagnostic BOOT CD
A Formatted FLOPPY DISK
A LPT Loop back Connector (for LPT port Loop back test)
A standard LPT printer (for LPT Printer test)
A Test Media CD (A-BEX TEST CD-ROM TCDR-702)(for CD-ROM test)
A Test Media DVD (Toshiba-EMI DVD-ROM TEST DISK TSD-1)
An External Monitor (for DISPLAY test)
