There are four optional SmartExtender Modules as described

under Connecting to a SmartExtender Module in Chapter 2. The

indicators provided with each module are described below.

EM3551-TX for 100BASE-TX or 10BASE-T EM3551-T4 for 100BASE-T4

EM3551-FX-ST for 100BASE-FX EM3551-FX-SC for 100BASE-FX

LED State Indication

100 ON Port is set at 100 Mbps.

OFF Port is set at 10 Mbps.

FDX ON Port is set for full-duplex operation.

OFF Port is set for half-duplex operation.

Col BLINKING Packet collisions, blinking is proportional to collision r ate.

Link ON Port has a valid network connection.

Tx ON Port is transmitting packets.

Rx ON Port is receiving packets.

Interhub

Color: Green

Label: Interhub

Function: Indicates a valid connection between hub and agent.

LED Activity Condition Indication

BLINKING LIGHT ON Hub has a valid connection to the Agent through

the FlexBus 3500 port on the backplane.

NO LIGHT OFF Hub is in a stand-alone configuration; or hub

does not have a valid connection to the network

system it monitors.
