Although a CTI implementation can take many forms, Figure 1-1 depicts a simple model of CTI in terms of Avaya Computer Telephony components. This model depicts a DEFINITY switch that relies on the Adjunct Switch Application Interface (ASAI) to effect communications with adjuncts (such as the Avaya Computer Telephony server).
