Learning About Avaya Computer Telephony

Implementing a Firewall Strategy

Avaya Computer Telephony supports a variety of configuration methods and addressing techniques that are used in a firewall environment. The documentation presents the information in terms of where you are setting up your firewall.

If you are setting up a firewall between the Avaya Computer Telephony client and the Avaya Computer Telephony Server (Tserver), see Chapter 6 of the Telephony Services Administration and Maintenance Guide (NETMANGD.PDF).

If you are setting up a firewall between the G3PBX driver (located on the Avaya Computer Telephony Server) and the switch, see Chapter 2 of the G3PBX Driver and CVLAN Administration and Maintenance Guide (DEFNETM.PDF).

Note:

While Avaya Computer Telephony can support a firewall on either side of the Tserver, it is recommended that the firewall be placed between the Tserver and the client rather than the Tserver and the switch.
