MODE SWITCH BANK SETTINGS AND

OPTIONAL INSTALLATIONS

This appendix covers the following items:

C.1 REQUIRED TOOLS

You need the following tools to perform the procedures provided in this appendix:

Antistatic wrist strap (provided with DLM6C-AA chassis)

Phillips screwdriver

C.2 SETTING THE MODE SWITCH

The following procedures may also be performed through Local Management. The mode switches should only be used if it is not possible to make a Local Management connection. Refer to Chapter 5, Local Management, for instructions on how to perform these tasks.

These mode switches are set at the factory and do not need to be changed unless you intend to perform the following:

Force download a new image file from a BootP server.

Clear NVRAM and restore all user-entered parameters such as the IP address and subnet masks to the DLE2X-MA and DLE3X-MA “Default” configuration settings.

Clear user-entered passwords stored in NVRAM and restore the default passwords.
