“Error Number: *300” appears on the screen and print job does not execute

This is a Macintosh error message where the * is replaced with a letter.

Make sure that the printer is switched on

Make sure that the printer power lit green. When the printer power light is flashing green, the printer is warming up. Wait few moments for the POWER lamp to stop flashing. The printer is ready when the green flashing lamps lights green and remains on. If the POWER lamp does not light, see page 128.

Check the printer and the interface cable

Check the printer status and the connection of the printer interface cable connections. (128)

Check to see if the background printing is operating properly

Follow this procedure to disable background printing and try to execute the print job again.

From the Apple menu, select the Chooser.

Click the BJC-55 icon.

Click the Backgrounding radio button off.

If you cannot execute background printing, correct this problem as soon as possible. (143)
