Installation
Bus terminating resistors | The first and last station in a bus segment must be connected |
to the bus with the bus terminating resistor switched on. The
bus terminating resistor is switched externally. This external
switch function can either be implemented as a separate bus
terminating resistor or with a special
integrated bus termination.
Eaton's
terminating resistors to be switched on and off.

EMC wiring | Electromagnetic interference may have adverse effects on the |
communication fieldbus. This can be minimized in advance by
taking suitable EMC measures. These include:
• System design in accordance with EMC requirements,
• EMC cabling and
• Measures that prevent the occurrence of large potential
differences,
• Correct installation of the PROFIBUS system (cable,
connection of bus connector,...).
The effects of electromagnetic interference can be
significantly reduced by fitting the shield. The following two
figures illustrate how to fit the shield.
