Menu Descriptions

Menu Item	Screen Function
GENERAL	Used to monitor and configure the device operating parameters. For
CONFIGURATION	details, refer to Section 4.2.
SNMP	Used to access the SNMP Community Names Configuration, SNMP
CONFIGURATION	Traps Configuration, and Access Control List screens. These screens
MENU	are used to modify SNMP community names, set SNMP traps and
	provide additional security while managing the device. For details,
	refer to Section 4.3.
SYSTEM	Displays the CPU type used in the device and its operating speed;
RESOURCES	displays the size of each memory system used (FLASH memory,
INFORMATION	DRAM and NVRAM) in the device and the unused portion of each
	memory; and displays the current CPU (switch) utilization and the
	peak switch utilization. For details, refer to Section 4.7.
FLASH	Used to force the device to download a new image file from a TFTP
DOWNLOAD	server to its FLASH memory. For details, refer to Section 4.8.
CONFIGURATION	To prevent passwords from being downloaded and overwriting the
	current passwords in memory, refer to the Security screen information
	described in Section 3.5.
PORT	Used to select the screens for configuring the device ports. For details,
CONFIGURATION	refer to Section 5.1.
MENU
802.1	Provides access to the Spanning Tree Configuration Menu screen, the
CONFIGURATION	802.1Q VLAN Configuration Menu screen, and the 802.1p Priority
MENU	Configuration Menu screen. For details, refer to Section 6.1.
LAYER 3	Provides access to the IGMP/VLAN Configuration screen to configure
EXTENSIONS	ports and VLANs to operate according to the Internet Group
MENU	Management Protocol (IGMP). For details, refer to Chapter 9.
