To access the configuration mode of the Model 24SII DES, use the following procedure:

1.Connect a dumb terminal (or a PC running a terminal emulation program) to the master configuration port (Port 1 of Module 1) or to any serial computer port. Configure your terminal's serial parameters to match those of the Model 24SII DES. From the factory, all serial ports on the Model 24SII DES are factory set at 9600 baud rate, 8 word size, 1 stop bit, no parity, and XON/XOFF disabled.

If you do not have a dumb terminal or a terminal emulation program, BayTech supplies a utility diskette which includes software to put an IBM PC or compatible into a terminal mode. See Section 4.2 for instructions to obtain the software (TERM.EXE) and Section 4.6 for instructions to use TERM for configuration.

2.Send from this device to the Model 24SII DES port being used for configuration the following control characters: ASCII Control-T(14 Hex), ASCII capital C (43 Hex), and the desired module number (1 to 6).

For example, if your terminal is connected to Port 1 of Module 1 and you wish to configure a port on Module 1, you would send the following: <Control-T>C1.
