Each port offers high speed data communication with unidirectional serial throughput up to 460k bits per second (bps) and parallel speeds exceeding 60k characters per second (cps). The Model 24SII controller board is used primarily as a data communications bus with throughput capability up to 5.5M bps. The controller board allows direct communication with the connected modules or routes data to the memory module for print spooling. The dynamically allocated buffer is available from 1MB up to 16MB.
