The BayTech Model 24SII Data Exchange System (DES) is a high performance peripheral sharing solution offering versatile and flexible connectivity between computers and various peripheral devices. Computers may share plotters, modems, and laser printers, as well as access other computers to share data bases and transfer files. Cost effectiveness is thus achieved through resource sharing among multiple users.

Figure 1 below shows a Model 24SII DES with twenty-four ports installed. This application shows eight local PCs, a remote PC using the BayTech Tran-x LPT-460 high speed parallel/serial converter, and a file server from a LAN sharing a plotter, HP LaserJet Series II printer, HP Laserjet Series IIISI printer, and a BayTech BX2448 2400 bps modem.
