Basic Screen Actions

There are certain processes that are performed in a similar way in each of the operations screens. These include:

Selecting items from a list.

Searching for particular items in a list.

Sorting a list.

Getting help

Selecting Entries in Lists

To select one or more entries in a list,

To select a single entry, left-clickanywhere within the entry row.

To select contiguous entries, click and drag, or click the first entry and Shift-left-clickthe last entry. All lines between the first and last entry will be selected.

To select noncontiguous entries, click the first entry and Ctrl-left-clickeach additional entry.

Additionally, the System Manager, Host Manager, and Network Node screens have Edit > Select menu items that allow you to select all entries in a list or all those entries with a given tag.

Some lists in the Schedule Manager screen allow only one entry to be selected at a time.

Searching Entries

On the System Manager, Host Manager, and Network Node screens, you can use the Search > Find menu item to find a particular entry in a large list. A dialog box opens in which you enter a search string. To repeat the same search, use Search > Find Next.

Sorting Entries

On lists with column titles, you can click on the column title to sort the list by that column, toggling between ascending and descending orders. You can also select a sort method from the Sort menu; this alternative allows you to sort by columns that are not displayed.
