| Repeat this step until the defective FRU is identified or all the FRUs have | |

| If the symptom did not change and all the FRUs have been exchanged, call | |

| If the symptom has changed, check for loose cards, cables, and obvious | |
| problems. If you do not find a problem, return to Step 1 in this MAP and | |
| follow the instructions for the new symptom. | |

Step 9

1.Set the power switch on the system unit to Off.
2.Connect the signal and power connectors for the disk drives one at a time. Start with the connectors for the drive that contains the bootable operating system software.
3.Remove any diskette from the diskette drive.
4.Set the power switch on the system unit to On.
5.Wait for one of the following conditions to occur:

•The system stops for at least three minutes and a constant number, character, or symbol is displayed in the
•The system stops and two or more numbers with values between 221 and 296 are displayed alternately in the
