5 FUNCTIONS FOR RECEIVE

■Noise blanker

The noise blanker eliminates pulse-type noise such as the noise from car ignitions. The noise blanker is not available for FM mode.

qPush NB to turn the noise blanker function ON and OFF.

• [NB] indicator above this switch lights green.

wRotate [NB] control to adjust the noise blanker threshold level.

When using the noise blanker, received signals may

be distorted if they are excessively strong or the

NB [NB] control noise type is other than impulse. Turn the noise blanker OFF, or rotate [NB] control to a shallow po- sition in this case.

DNB set mode

To deal with various type of noises, attenuation level and noise blank time can be set in NB set mode.

qPush and hold NB for 1 sec. to enter NB set mode.

w Push [F-1•Y] or [F-2•Z] to select the desired item. eRotate the main dial to set the desired level or value.

• Push and hold [F-4•DEF] for 1 sec. to select a default value.

r Push EXIT/SET to exit NB set mode.
