Name Field
Enter a descriptive name to identify the port.
Language Switching
Each output port can be configured to perform the following language switching options: OFF, PCL, PostScript or Automatic. Unless OFF is selected, a language switching character string will be inserted before each print job. The Printer Type selection is used to determine the actual characters required to switch the language of the printer.
∙OFF – Print data stream will be sent directly to the output port without alteration.
∙PCL – Inserts the appropriate character string in front of each print job to switch the printer to the PCL print language.
∙PostScript – Inserts the appropriate character string in front of each print job to switch the printer to the PostScript printer language.
∙Automatic – Enables the auto language sensing function. This function examines the print job data stream and determines the required print language and inserts the appropriate character string in front of each print job to switch the printer to the appro- priate printer language.
Note: If you are not switching languages or the printer can switch languages automatically, this option should be set to OFF.
