12.2 Error messages – Base unit display
If the unit detects a problem, one or more of the following messages will appear on the display.
Display Cause & Solution
“BUSY”LThe cordless handset is in use.
LThe cordless handset you are calling is too far from the base unit.
“CALL SERVICE”
“CALL SERVICE 2”
LThere is something wrong with the unit. Contact our service
personnel.
“CHECK DOCUMENT”LThe document was not fed into the unit properly. Re-insert the
document. If misfeeding occurs frequently, clean the document
feeder rollers (page 94) and try again.
LAttempted to send a document longer than 600 mm. Press
{STOP} to remove the document. Divide the document into two or
more sheets and try again.
“CHECK MEMORY”LMemory (telephone numbers, parameters, etc.) has been erased.
Re-program.
“COVER OPEN”
“CHECK PAPER”
LThe cover is open. Close it and press {FAX/S TART} to clear the
message.
LThe unit has run out of recording paper. Install recording paper
(page 9) and press {FAX/S TART} to c lear the message.
“FAX IN MEMORY”LThe unit has a document in memory. See the other displayed
message instructions to print out the document. For fax memory
capacity, see page 98.
“FAX MEMORY FULL”LThe memory is full of received documents due to a lack of
recording paper or a recording paper jam. Install paper (page 9) or
clear the jammed paper (page 93).
LWhen performing broadcast transmission, the document being
stored exceeded the memory capacity of the unit. Send the entire
document manually.
“MEMORY FULL”LThere is no space to store new items in the base unit phonebook.
Erase unnecessary items (page 30).
“MESSAGE FULL”LThere is no memory available to record voice messages. Erase
unnecessary messages (page 55).
“MODEM ERROR”LThere is something wrong with the unit’s modem. Contact our
service personnel.
“NO FAX REPLY”LThe other party’s fax machine is busy or has run out of recording
paper. Try again.
“PAPER JAMMED”LA recording paper jam occurred. Clear the jammed paper (page
93).
“PLEASE WAIT”LThe unit is checking and initializing the paper cutter. Wait for a
moment while the check is completed.
“POLLING ERROR”LThe other party’s fax machine does not support polling. Check with
the other party.
“REDIAL TIME OUT”LThe other party’s fax machine is busy or has run out of recording
paper. Try again.
