Code #58: Setting the scan contrast
SCAN CONTRAST
=NORMAL [±]
To send or copy a document with faint or dark writing, set this feature before starting transmission or copying.
“NORMAL” (default): Used for normal writing.
“LIGHT”: Used for dark writing.
“DARKER”: Used for faint writing.
LThis feature is not valid if you select “PHOTO” resolution for sending (page 40) or copying (page 53) a document.
Code #59: Setting the print contrast
PRINT CONTRAST
=NORMAL [±]
To adjust the darkness of received or copied documents.
“NORMAL” (default): Normal contrast.
“DARKER”: Darker contrast.
Code #67: Setting the call screening
CALL SCREENING

To select whether the greeting message and an incoming message are heard through the unit’s speaker when the unit answers a call and records a message.
“ON” (default): You can screen the greeting message and an incoming call.
“OFF”: Deactivates this feature.

Note:
LIf the unit is connected via a PBX, PBX functions (transferring a call etc.) might not work correctly. Consult your PBX supplier for the correct setting.

Code #76: Setting the connecting tone
CONNECTING TONE
=ON[±]
If you often have trouble when sending faxes, this feature allows you to hear connecting tones: fax tone, ring back tone and busy tone. You can use these tones to confirm the status of the other party’s machine.
“ON” (default): You will hear connecting tones.
“OFF”: Deactivates this feature.
Note:
LIf the ring back tone continues, the other
party’s machine may not be a fax machine or may have run out of paper. Check with the other party.
LThe connecting tone volume cannot be adjusted.
