FUNZIONAMENTO

BMI (Body Mass Index)

BMI è un utile strumento che mostra il rapporto tra peso e altezza associati al gras- so corporeo e al rischio di malattie. La seguente tabella mostra un limite generale e il valore di BMI:

Tuttavia, sussistono alcune limitazioni. Potrebbe valutare in eccesso il grasso corpo- reo di atleti e altre persone con muscoli sviluppati. Potrebbe anche valutare in difet- to il grasso corporeo di persone anziane e altri utenti che hanno perso massa muscolare.

Scegliendo il programma BMI verrà richiesto di immettere altezza e peso e il com- puter calcolerà e visualizzerà l’Indice di Massa Corporea. La console visualizzerà “IDEAL BMI RANGE” (INTERVALLO BMI IDEALE). L’intervallo ideale o normale è 18,5 –24,9. La console visualizza anche l’intervallo di peso ideale rispetto all’altezza dell’utente.

Recovery Test:

Il test di ripristino mostra quanto il cuore si ristabilisca rapidamente da uno stato di alle- namento a uno stato di maggiore riposo. Il miglioramento del ripristino è un indicatore del miglioramento dell’allenamento.

Perché la console effettui il test di ripristino, si devono verificare due condizioni. Occorre premere il pulsante RECOVERY (RIPRISTINO) e la console deve visualizza- re la frequenza cardiaca. Quando si verificano entrambe queste condizioni, la con- sole effettua il test di ripristino.

La console visualizza “01:00 STOP” e il timer inizia il conto alla rovescia. Interrompere l’allenamento ma continuare ad afferrare i sensori per il controllo della fre- quenza cardiaca. Dopo 5 secondi il display visualizza “00:55 RELAX” e continua il conto alla rovescia fino a 00:00. Per un minuto, la console visualizza anche la fre- quenza cardiaca. Occorre afferrare i sensori per il controllo della frequenza cardiaca per tutta la durata del test.

Il display continua a visualizzare “RELAX” e la frequenza cardiaca finché l’orologio ini- zia il conto alla rovescia fino a 00:00. Quindi la console calcola il punteggio ripristino.
