EFP9800 ESC/POS Commands

Select Peripheral Device

Selects or cancels a peripheral device designated by the value of n. When the printer is not selected, it reads all data but performs nothing except the Real Time Status Transmission or Real Time Request to Printer commands. Even though the printer is not selected, it may go offline through manual printer operation.

Use internal switch pack settings to determine which value of n is selected. For more information, see “ Switch Entry Mode” in section 3.

Initialize Printer

Clears the buffer and resets the printer to the default settings as follows:

Resets the printer mode to the mode that was in effect when the power was turned on.

DIP switches are not read again.

Data in the receive buffer is not cleared.

If slip printing is currently selected, the printer ejects the slip and switches to receipt/journal printing.
