Image Overwrite Security protects against unauthorized retrieval of confidential data from the machine by removing image data that is left when jobs are processed.

Tools > Security Settings

Authentication

Enable Job Operation Rights for All Users or System Administrator only with this feature. This sets permissions to allow general users or Systems Administrators to delete jobs from the device print queue.

Immediate Image Overwrite

Immediate Image Overwrite is a security measure for customers who are concerned about unauthorized access and duplication of classified or private documents.

The Immediate Image Overwrite feature erases all residual image data from the machine immediately after each job has been processed without requiring the machine to be taken offline.

The feature overwrites the following jobs:

Print

Scanning

Server Fax send (when an Embedded Fax card is also fitted and enabled)

When the Embedded Fax card and Immediate Image Overwrite are enabled, the feature overwrites the following jobs:

Embedded Fax receive

Embedded Fax send

Server Fax send (when a Network Controller is fitted)

Embedded Fax report

On Demand Image Overwrite

On Demand Image Overwrite is a security measure for customers who are concerned about unauthorized access and duplication of classified or private documents.

The On Demand Image Overwrite feature provides an on-demand facility for a System Administrator to erase all residual image data from the memory of the machine. The standard overwrite process takes approximately 15 minutes. A full overwrite process takes approximately 60 minutes.
