Remote Management

18.1 Overview

This chapter provides information on the Remote Management screens.

Remote Management allows you to manage your NBG-460N from a remote location through the following interfaces:

LAN and WAN

LAN only

WAN only

Note: When you configure remote management to allow management from the WAN, or choose WAN or LAN & WAN in the options above, you still need to configure a firewall rule to allow access. See the firewall chapters for details on configuring firewall rules.

18.2What You Can Do

Use the WWW screen (Section 18.4 on page 249) to define the interface/s from which the NBG-460N can be managed remotely using the web and specify a secure client that can manage the NBG-460N.

Use the TELNET screen (Section 18.5 on page 250) to define the interface/s from which the NBG-460N can be managed remotely using Telnet service and specify a secure client that can manage the NBG-460N.

Use the FTP screen (Section 18.6 on page 250) to define the interface/s from which you can upload the firmware or configuration file to the NBG-460N and specify a secure client that can manage the NBG-460N.

Use the DNS screen (Section 18.7 on page 251) to define the interface/s from which the NBG-460N acquires its DNS settings and specify a secure client that can manage the NBG-460N.
