Chapter 3 - Configuring the REX2

The Dynamic Route (created by RIP) and ARP tables are dynamically built and can be accessed from this screen. The Static Route table is built from routes that you manually configure. For information about these routing tables, see:

“Viewing the Dynamic Routing Table” on page 59

“Viewing the ARP Table” on page 42

“Managing the Static Routing Table” on page 57

Configuring the IP Addresses

You can configure IP addresses and subnet masks for both the Line and LAN ports as well as configure a default gateway for packets to be routed to the Internet if the next hop cannot be identified. See “Campus-REX2 IP Addresses” on page 129 for more information.

1To configure the IP address and subnet masks, type 1 then press ENTER . The IP Address Configuration screen is displayed.
