Upgrading Avaya M770 ATM Switch Software

This chapter describes how to use the command-line interface to upgrade the software on a module. For information about how to access and use the Avaya M770 ATM Switch command-line interface, see Chapter 3, “How to Use the Command-line Interface”.

Managing Switch Software

The M770 ATM Switch is designed as a software-upgradable product. Therefore, you can expand the functionality of the switch by downloading new microcode.

The M770 ATM Switch has flash memory that contains the run-time software. To find out whether you are running the latest software release, you can view the release of the software in the flash memory. This chapter explains how to manage the run-time software that is held in flash memory, and how to upgrade/ downgrade via TFTP from the CLI.
