Thiss ection describes the method for testing and tuning a servo ax is. Totest a stepper axes,
gostraight tosection 5.8.

5.4.1 Testingthe drive command output

Thiss ection tests the operation and direction of the axis command out put. It is recommended
thatthe motor is disconnected for this test.
1. Check that the D rive enable button is
pressed (down).
2. In the Toolbox,clic k Application then click
theEdit & D ebug icon.
3. Click in the Command window.
4. Type:
TORQUE.0=5
where0 is theaxis (demandoutput) t o be
tested.I n this example, this should cause a
demandof +5% of maximum output (0.5V)
tobe produc ed at the Demand 0 output
(breakout module connector X7, pin 1).
Seesec tion 4.3.2 for details of the demand outputs. In WorkBench v5, look at the Spy
windowloc ated on the right of the screen. The virtual LED Command display s hould show
5(approx imately). If there seems to be no command output, check the elec trical
connections between the breakout module and the drive.
5. Torepeat the tests for negative (rev erse) demands, type:
TORQUE.0=-5
Thiss hould cause a demand of -5% of maximum output (-0.5V) to be produced at the
Demand0 output.
