Setting the Ring Delay

The Ring Delay sets the number of times the fax machine rings before it answers in FAX ONLY, FAX/TEL or TAD mode.

Press Menu/Set, 2, 1.

Press Menu/Set.

Press Stop.

When Toll Saver is ON, it overrides your Ring Delay setting. Toll Saver must be off for the machine to operate using your Ring Delay setting. (See Setting the Toll Saver on page 8-10.)

Setting the F/T Ring Time (FAX/TEL mode only)

If you set the Receive Mode to FAX/TEL, you’ll need to decide how long the fax machine will signal you with its special pseudo/double-ring when you have a voice call. (If it’s a fax call, the fax machine prints the fax.) This ringing happens after the initial ringing from the phone company. Only the fax machine rings (for 20, 30, 40 or 70 seconds) and no other phones on the same line will ring with the special pseudo/double-ring. However, you can answer the call on any extension phone (in a separate wall socket) on the same line as the fax machine. (See Operation from extension telephones on page 5-8.)

Even if the caller hangs up during the pseudo/double-ringing, the fax machine will continue to ring for the set time.
